About USAID
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government that is primarily responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance. With a budget of over $27 billion, USAID is one of the largest official aid agencies in the world and accounts for more than half of all U.S. foreign assistance—the highest in the world in absolute dollar terms.
About The Project
LHSS is a web and mobile application that equips health providers with the tools they need to better serve their communities. LHSS was built in a participatory design process involving community leaders, health providers, technology experts, and end users to ensure that it serves the needs of all participants. The custom platform allows individuals at risk of having or transmitting an STI to be identified and tested rapidly through SMS messages and lab testing results sent via email to the appropriate stakeholders.
